Ahaaa, maybe this is precisely because the insurance is only valid for UK residents. Perhaps the chosen language is the only basis they use to determine whether or not you are a UK resident (even though they clearly shouldn't be doing it at all, regardless of residency). Thanks for the tip though, I'll book my flights in French next time
