There are quite a few expat people - mainly women, as it usually is - who find themselves there and have nowhere to turn as the 'community' is somewhat er, prestigious. However, you'll find a fair mix of nationalities and I know there are some who crave more than one bottle of plonk and would actively pursue contact with other 'normalos'.
