| Application for employment form
Hi, see if anyone has had experience with this.
I applied for a new job for a US multinational here in Zurich, went to the interview, got offered a job, accepted, and now received a signed contract for me to send back. To my surprise, included with the contract is a form titled "Application fro Employment Form" in which I authorize my new employer and a company called Control Risks Group to perform reference checks based on the data I provide in the form.
Obviously this is a UK form because they ask stuff like "are you eligible to work in the UK", eventhough my position will be here in ZH.
They're asking for lots of detail like my addresses of the last 6 years, or if I've ever been refused credit.
I'm wondering if this type of form is even legal here in Switzerland. Any thought on this?
THe local Swiss HR are handling things, so I'm wondering if they're not sending this form because I never submitted the swiss-style "Mappe" with all my degrees and references going back to kindergarten...
