I don't know a better way of assessing interest really -- I don't want to organise an event before I know if anyone is interested/responsive. I stuck up my poll as its own post in the forum: not sure what else to do aside from posting "hello, I shall be at such and such place on such and such date/time, please come talk to me in German"... -- that is almost guaranteed to not be successful, I would imagine! Was hoping to get just a few responses so that we could then mutually discuss where to meet up (I moved here less than 2 weeks ago so I'm less than familiar with places to go).
