Tilapia can be substituted with any white thin fillet, such as Sole, Halibut, Catfish, Cod, Hake, Haddock, Bream or Orange Roughy.
Tilapia is a very clean, mild flavoured firm white freshwater fish. Some even call it the 'Chicken of the Sea' as it can be used for any and all recipes. Check the Asian or African stores, they will certainly have them.
