I tried opening an account with Credit Suisse in Zurich a few days ago. The main branch in Paradeplatz said that they no longer open accounts for US citizens and that neither do most of the other large Swiss banks, UBS, etc. Instead, they suggested I try opening an account with a smaller bank.

I hate politics.
