Re: TRAPSTER.COM is a FREE "safety" camera download site with a map!

I gave Trapster a try today on a round trip from Buchs to Samnaun.

Within the Trapster App, one has the opportunity to log a trip and save
it to the internet to share with others.

Here is today's trip.

My impressions of Trapster:

1. Tracking via GPS: As you can see the tracking was not very
accurate. The path is way off the road, sometimes half way up the
Alp or across the river next to the road. Safety problem #1.

2. Distance: According to the tracking, the distance was 52.41 miles.
Which equals 84.34 kms. Not quite! The drive clocks in with actual
3 hours - One way! (plus or minus 10 minutes for traffic). Safety
problem #2.

3. Lost tracking: Of course when there is no GPS, there is no
tracking. Tunnels, mountains, deep valleys... get my point? Safety
problem #3.

4. Time: I departed at 7:09 in the morning. The timezone used for
tracking must be EDST in the USA. Looked at the settings, noting
to set there. Safety problem #4.

During the trip I came across one traffic control on both sides of the
Fluela Pass (total = 2). I sent the notice using the App... Confirmation
was weak to say the least. I don't know if it registered or not. Safety
problem #5.

Lastly, during the trip there were not any notifications that came up
regarding radar or control along the way. I did not see any (other
than the two I sent myself) either. So, I cannot say if it worked like
it should or not. Safety problem #6, maybe

Hope that helped... if even a little.
