How many days are 'enough'?

Hi,

I'm considering a permanent, senior position for a Swiss company that would have me traveling worldwide much of the year to work on projects in many countries. I would earn a salary in Switzerland and pay Swiss tax. I'm a US citizen (and would do the usual expat filing).

I'd like to know if there is a minimum number of days that I would be required to be present in Switzerland during the year. I expect I would have a B work permit.

The extra twist is that I would spend a good portion of time in one other country accompanying a diplomat, but not having working rights in that other country. So, I would be still be telecommuting for the Swiss position when there.

Does anyone have any input on how much time you need to be in Switzerland to be considered a regular employee of a Swiss company?

Many thanks for your advice!
