Yes, I'm afraid it is a bit far - about 3 hours I reckon.

I don't know any musicians outside of Basel/Zürich unfortunately.

However, there are loads of music schools around - I get the impression that not much instrumental tuition goes on in schools, hence lot's of private schools.
