Re: Average Price for Diapers/Nappies in Zurich?

A few have mentioned that diapers are a lot more expensive here than in the US. I am trying to really understand the cost differential.

Here is a link for diapers, I can't read German yet but it looks like for 76 CHF you get 4 packages of diapers with 62 diapers in each package? Is that correct?

http://www.babyjoe.ch/shop/herstelle...-4x62-stk.html

If not, and the 76 CHF is for a single package of 62 diapers, I think I am going to have to teach my baby to use the toilet ASAP.

Also, where do most buy their diapers -- is there any place that is more economical? For comparison, in the US you would pay approx 13 CHF...
The link from BabyJoe is for 4x58 pampers, so 232. That's for 3-6 kgs. Plus delivery costs. You can only really compare the same size and the per unit cost - so get out your calculator/phone. As a guide -CHF .27 per diaper is a good price for Pampers, but in some packs the price goes up to CHF .45 and .55!! They have different sized packs just to confuse the consumer.

Denner sells the cheapest Pampers when they are on special, but you can't always find the size you need. You get about 88 pampers for CHF 26 (size 4+) . The come in smaller packs inside a box.

Aldi ones were even cheaper and were less prone to leaking for us than Pampers when my son got bigger. They were about CHF .17 per diaper.
