Re: searching for used ski/snowboard equipment

Hi Winter Sports Fans!

It is the time of year to survey the kids’ ski and snowboard equipment, figure out what they have outgrown, what can be passed on to the next, and what we need.

My 13-year-old son has outgrown his freestyle skis, which he used the past two seasons. These trick or freestyle skis may also be called "park skis" or "twin tips", as they are designed for use in the ski parks: jumps, half-pipes, ramps, etc. The back end of the ski is the same as the front, and the binding is pretty much in the middle of the ski.

He will soon be 14, and I would like to get him a new pair of the same type of skis. He is now 169cm tall, and should have skis about 158cm, between 155 and 160cm. I am hoping to find an inexpensive pair of used skis, preferably with suitable bindings. (He is one of three boys - it gets kind of expensive :-) If anyone has such a pair to sell, please let me know.

We also will need soft snowboard boots and ski boots in sizes 40-41. And very likely my oldest son, who is 15½, will need a new snowboard, probably 145-148 cm long.

I have looked, and will look again, on Ricardo and Ebay. If anyone knows of other sources or listings of used equipment to buy, let’s share that info here, too.

Thanks!
I have a 148 Burton Custom snowboard which might be of interest. I'm not sure what size the boots to go with it are, but I think they are size 39-40. The stuff has been used, but has been serviced since it last use and is in good but not brand new condition.
