| Sale: Lausanne: Ski Mountaineering Boots (28.5 mondo) & Telemark Boots (27 mondo) For Sale, Lausanne: 1) 1 pair Scarpa Tornado Ski Mountaineering Boots (28.5 mondo): 250 CHF 2) 1 pair Scarpa T1 Telemark Boots (27 mondo): 300 CHF Pictures in attached pdf 1) Ski Mountaineering/Randonnee Boots: Scarpa Tornado (Size 28.5 Mondo): 250 CHF These belonged to my wife, although they are men’s boots (you can’t get women’s in large sizes). However they never fitted properly, so have hardly been used and are in excellent condition. The Tornado boot is a little heavier than the average touring boot, but you gain with downhill performance that is comparable to a pure alpine boot. See the reviews below. What Scarpa say: Remaining the stiffest boot in Scarpa's line that retains a walk mode, the Tornado Pro returns for its sophomore year with a new Pebax shell. It features a dual-density cuff and foot for optimal drive and support. Two interchangeable soles, adjustable forward lean, and tongues allow the skier to dial in personal preferences for skiing on all sides of the gates. Like all new Scarpa boots, the Pro comes with Intuition liners. The creative choice for mixing resort and BC playgrounds; ideal for those that live and work on their skis. What the TelemarkSki staff thinks... Summary: Designed with those who access off-piste terrain from the resort in mind, the Scarpa Tornado comes closer to true alpine boot feel and performace than most other alpine touring boots. With features such as an customizable forward lean, buckles that disperse pressure evenly over the foot, and interchangeable tongues (stiff for skiing and articulated for touring), it's hard to believe this boot could get any better. The greatest advance of the Tornado however is its Ride Scarpa/Vibram sole with rubber inserts on the toe and heel for grip yet complies with ISO Alpine and UNI Standards for releasability. Backcountry Magazine (Sept.07):"The Tornado Pro is Scarpa's stiff AT boot that performs exceptionally in all conditions. I thought that the walk mode in these boots was slightly more Magazine comfortable than the Endorphin, but would probably still not use them exclusively for touring. However, they are an excellent choice for someone who doesn't mind the extra weight or for someone who skis a mix of in and out of bounds resort skiing. I have heard some people complain that these boots throw them in the backseat, but I really didn't find that to be the case at all. It think it's more a matter of skiing style than anything to do with forward lean." 2) Telemark Boots: Scarpa T1 Intuition: (Size 27 Mondo): 300 CHF These have done one season, but they are still in good condition. The number one selling telemark boot in America. However I did not use them at all last season, so time to sell them on. Reviews below: What Scarpa say: For demanding, gravity-fueled skiers; comfortable in the backcountry What the TelemarkSki staff thinks... Summary: As the bar for aggressive telemark skiing gets higher and higher, so does the standards in equipment and Scarpa delivers with their dependable T1. Able to handle bigger skis, accomplished skiers will love the turn initiation with these bad boys. Don't hesitate to take these in the backcountry either; innovations in comfort design will make these easy on the uphill as well. Backcountry Magazine (Sept.07):"Last year the redesigned T1 was a test hit for several reasons. First, Scarpa removed the rocker on both the T1 and the Race. Translation: Energy is immediately propelled into the ski as soon as you even think about bending your knee. It also makes for easy alpine turns, because your heel is constantly, and squarely on the heel piece when you're not in the tele position. The flip side is, with a flat sole, this boot is not nearly the scrambler is used to be. Still, it's got a solid walk mode and with today's free-pivot touring bindings, who needs rocker? And with the new Intuition liner this year, Scarpa has the best liner on the market, period." '08: "There's a reason this is the number one selling tele boot in America. It's as smooth as it is powerful, and as adept at mashing moguls as popping face shots. A Vermont tester said, 'Seasoned skiers will love this boot because it tackles the whole mountain. Resort rugged, backcountry bomber.' One reason for the accolades is a heat-moldable, dual-density Intuition liner with a wraparound cuff that comes pre-lasted for most fee. The bottom of the liner is even rubberized, for relaxing aprés ski in a hut. Four buckles hold feet snugly in place, and the asymmetric bellows deliver silky-smooth flex. If you spend your time equally in and out of bounds, testers say the T1 is, 'The do it all boot!' The only compromise is weight." http://www.telemark-pyrenees.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=1_10_324_311&products_id=65 54
