Sounds like this is 6 of one, half a dozen of the other - I can't see why he'd be upset that you folded and moved his dry clothes, but then you should have moved your own and not left them there. I don't think that's a particularly Swiss thing per se, more just a "sharing the same space" thing which would be the same anywhere (i had the same issues in 2 places where I lived in the UK with a shared washing machine / dryer)
