| Re: Best place to live in Zurich city?
sorry, guys, but what means "university feel" about/in kreis 6? im living there, oberstrass, and i dont have that feel. i mean, universitätsspital is close. thats all. most folks that live here are more like 30+, families too.
i like it here very much. my flat has 2.5 rooms, balcony (small one) sunshine from 9am-8pm in summer, 75square metres, roughly 1800sfr all inclusive.
the area itself is nice, because a stonethrow away is the letten badi.
migros and coop are close for shopping, doctors of all kind around,
bank easy to reach, good place to eat out. 2tramstations to central station or central/niederdorf. 1bus stop to limmatplatz which extends places to have a drink, clubbing and places to eat pretty much. doesnt matter where you are in the centre, but you can mostly walk home at night or a cab ride wont leave you skint. and its very safe here.
4 tramlines are going to schaffhauser platz which makes getting to work, shopping and back home very easy.
the area around ottikerstrasse is one of my favourites in kreis 6, because it has very nice houses, similar to seefeld. weinbergstrasse area is also nice.
i like kreis 5 very much. but i dislike this "sugar? cola?" questionaire.
its a pain in the ass at night. same with kreis 4. but its very multicultural.
i dont know if its a good place for fams with younger kids?
a good summary is that what nicm got from his work mate.
i was looking for a place that is not much more then 5-10 minutes by tram from central station away. any other places, how nice, quiet and pro "low tax" they are... i gave a sh** about.
