Thanks Sky. Auto-aggression is actually pretty common. It would appear to be a teenager only (mostly female) reaction to a given set of "virtual" circumstances. No, we're not going to the psych-whatever side of affairs, this is down to discussion, and openness. I'm not underestimating the severity of this case, but nor will I overreact to something that I think belongs pretty much to the growing pains of a teenager. Some kids smoke, some drink, others experiment with drugs, our daughter never did any of those, so now we have scars on her arm and we'll get over it.
