As a frequent rail traveller I was somewhat surprised to hear recently the announcement please refrain from smoking on trains... And it was also interesting Monday when a GERMAN (where smoking to be rude is trained from birth) ICE train announce the crossing into Switzerland and that smoking is from this point on forbidden!

I guess the difference in words says it all!
