I'm somewhat bemused when people comment pies don't match their expectations of what a pie ought to
look like

I wish I had your problems. The pies mightn't be the price, smell , texture nor shape of a pork or ginsters pie, but as organic and freshly produced items made by friendly people, I'd say they're pretty good. As with the movie rule - 'Would an exploding helicopter make it a better film?' - pies need a 'Would it be improved without raisins?' qualifier. I suggest the Try a Pie pies wouldn't. But then, I'm easily pleased and often peckish...
