| Re: Pie Shop Zurich,
I'm a regular visitor to the pie shop, which is only a short walk away for me. The pies are very nice, although, as others have said, not exactly 'English'. I've tried most of the pies, and also the pasties and chocolate chip biscuits. I'd recommend all of them.
The pies have changed over time. If you took a shepherd's pie home, they supplied you with the pastry case, filling and potato separately, which you could reassemble at home. This was obviously too much for some people, so now it's a more traditional one-piece.
The pie ladies are always very pleasant. They always say hello to me when I see them around Schaffhauserplatz. I think the prices are no more out of line than Swiss prices are anyway, and as a small business starting up, I wish them all the best.
Also, you can sometimes try a pie at the shop with grumpygrapefruit's delicious cheeses, when he makes a visit.
