Another unlikely place you might find cheesecloth could be in a print shop (th old-skool kind that still uses machines) or in an industrial photo shop. Cheesecloth is what they use to clean large plates of glass. It's abrasive enough to remove small bits of crud and dust, yet soft enough not to scratch the glass.
