Please tell me something, I wake up often at night because my throat is full of mucus and I can't breath properly. I try to swallow but it stick in the back. Is it coming from the asthma? I always feel like I have a huge plug down my throat! | |

One other cause of this could be an over-active nasal gland, triggered most probably by an allergic reaction. I had this problem a few years ago and not a single nasal spray helped. I eventually had the glands cauterized and since then i've had very little problem.
You should be able to ask your doctor to give you an allergy test in any case, just to see if you are allergic to anything, at least then you can start eliminating causes.
