I checked again with my work and they contacted the Kreisburo, it seems that the process has been delayed because I moved house twice so it can take up to 6 months to process.
I only have the peice of paper saying I can work for 2 years and in the mean time but am trying my best to get the permit booklet with photo.
I think they just seem to be taking their time - but I was worried for a moment there by your comments.
