Importing a homologated EU vehicle will cost the test, the preparation (service and steam-clean of engine/underside), the exhaust fume test. I don't see it costing €1500 if everything is OEM (ie. no bling wheels or exhaust)

Myself and 2 others have/had insurance on UK plates.

Zürich issued the papers and certificates with my UK VIN and UK reg plate
