Did you check www.comparis.ch? I went through this myself last week and Zurich Connect seem good, with a high rating and low deductable but you pay for extra things you want to insure. If you don't then they seem fairly cheap. But I have not yet signed up, because I want a company that provides extra cover for this:

Visana and zurich Connect have limits of 5000 CHF, which is absolutely nothing if your place is thoroughly damaged through flooding and you have to live in hotels for ages (i.e., it does not even have to be a Katrina scenario for the bills to rise almost as fast as the floodwaters).

Does anyone know a company that offers higher limits?
Any insurance company will provide any amount of cover providing you're willing to pay the premium.

Cheap insurance polices do not exist you either have to insure for the real value and pay or take the risk and that is for you to decide.

It's the same for any insurance, fully comprehensive or not, private health care or not.

Analyse the risk, decide what you can accept yourself and the rest get covered with an insurance policy.
