German Conversation Group

Hi all,

I just moved to Zürich (near Wipkingen) about two weeks ago and I want to have some practice speaking German. I took four semesters of German in college and I've been to Switzerland several times; I'd say (read: guess) my level is somewhere between A2 and B1, but closer to the latter.

The frustrating thing here--and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced this--is that it feels impossible to practice speaking high German here. Everyone wants to speak Swiss German or English!

I saw some older posts for conversation groups, but I don't know what has happened with that. So what I'm proposing is:

If there are other German learners out there who want a chance to practice, let's start up a conversation group and meet a few times a week. If there are any native speakers who would like to help the group, that would be fantastic. If there are native German speakers who would like practice in English, we could do some kind of exchange. Is there any interest out there for such a group?
