Re: iPhone application recommendations

Moodagent - creates song playlists according to user settings in 5 categories (tempo, style of song etc.) It's a cross between Genius and Pandora in that it playlists songs in your music library (like Genius), but analyses song style rather (like Pandora) rather than using crowd sourcing (like Genius). Seems to work better than Genius.

LeShop - supermarket ordering like the website. Pros - can do shop offline and then post order when online. Available in English unlike Coop for iphone. (Amusingly, available in Switzerland in English, German and French, which really irritates Swiss Italians.) Cons - if you're italian speaking.

Sleep Cycle - you pack the phone under the bed sheets and the motion sensor measures your sleep cycles and the alarm wakes you when you're sleeping lightly, in order to make you feel less drowsy. Could be placebo effect, but it seems to work.

Sling Player - use with slingbox to watch sky box or other video source around the house or away via internet. Out of house quality is reasonable and depends heavily on home connection's upstream speed. Quality in the house is outstanding, possibly due to the fact that the stream passes only via router (not sure if this is true). Ditto for Sling player on a PC, by the way.

Empire - movie review database. Comprehensive and regularly updated. Reviews seem to be a bit oversympathetic.
