politicians attempt to ban 'killergames'

http://www.parlament.ch/d/suche/seit...ch_id=20093422

This was big in the news today. Apparently some idiots, err sorry politicians aim to ban 'killergames' in Switzerland. This after I believe half a year ago there was big talk of banning paintball!

Apart from Switzerland not having a shooting spree problem. I find it extreme hypocritical that a country who forces every male national to learn how to use a gun, has war games with real people, checks every year that they can still shoot accurately and encourages it's soldiers to keep the guns at home for a war which will never I come, really thinks computer games and paintball is the major threat our lives.

It smells of policitians making an alibi law which will bring exactly nothing to make themselves feel good that they've justified being elected. I mean what about doing something about the army guns at home which count for most household deaths?

How far would this go? Banning racing games cause it could encourage speeding, banning war films/horror films cause it could also encourage violance? Banning combat sports? Banning the media reporting about these stuff. I mean you don't want anyone getting any ideas! Banning kisses from disney films cause it increases sexual awerness among children??

Call of duty and Grand theft auto are among my favourite games. At the same time I've never fired a gun and don't plan to do so.

Of course a violent person will probably play violent games just as a speeder will play racing games and a rapist will watch porn but games and TV won't make them that way.

A ban for sales to minors yes. But for adults? Don't be stupid

Rant over I'd say
