Re: Snow sports 2009-10

I was at hasliberg too this weekend, but alas not with you fine folks.

Found the same issue of ice in places and almost slush in others from high to low. And the mogul type bits were definitely not to my taste! Still, a good day out, even if the clouds came in the afternoon.
If some more snow comes then it's definitely worth a return visit. Usually it is possible to ski back down the the car park/gondola area.

I think there might've been something wrong with the gondola when I arrived as the queue didn't move as fast as expected, and the crowds at the bottom were not really reflected at the top.

I've been told there is a cold spell coming, so fingers crossed it brings some more snow.

I was sledging at Melschee Frutt on Sunday. It seemed to me to be similar snow conditions as were in Hasliberg although obviously I didn't go on the pistes (apart from one wrong turn). Been there skiing a couple of times and it's ok but didn't enjoy it as much as other resorts. Wouldn't really recommend it for beginners (in case any are thinking of going). Can't comment on the off-piste action but there always seemed to be a decent number of people trying it so I guess it is worth a go.
