He has become over-rated for sure. however I really enjoy his movies from the 80s and some from the 90s. the first batman was great, edw scissor hands was great, and you cant forget pee wees big adventure. he even had some interesting short films from earlier. but now its kind of just meehhhh. i havent really enjoyed anything of his for at least 10 years. somebody else hit it right on the head: the plots get weak while your excited about cool imagery, but maybe thats enough for you current burton fans. I do like danny elfman though. the score from nightmare before christmas is pretty awesome. oingo boingo wasnt too bad either.

in what way has he become over-rated? i would say in the "so many people, including most of the people on this thread, buying tickets and getting excited for his new movie, even though it will suck" kind of way.
