Re: Zurich - Getting a sofa through a door

For any expert removalists, here's my predicament ...

I bought a lovely L-shaped sofa from another forum member. A neighbour helped me get it up three floors to the door of my apartment. The smaller piece is in my living room but we couldn't get the larger piece through. We're convinced it can be done, but we just can't work it out.

So I'm willing to offer rewards to anyone who can move the sofa two metres - from just outside my door to just inside. Make an offer - money, or beer, or pancakes, or a forum post praising your astonishing skills ...

(I called a few removal companies but they quoted me 250 fr minimum - the sofa only cost 500.)

I'm in Stiglenstrasse, Zurich. Please PM me!!!
The feet. They get in the way. They can usually be unscrewed giving you the room that you need. There could be lining covering the bottom and you might have to gently remove it to get to the screws. The lining may be held in place with staples so you will need a staple gun to fix it again. Small upholstery nails will work too.
