Leaving Switzerland - some general questions

Hello everyone, please forgive me if some of these questions have been already answered - I had a look through the forum, and actually already found some really useful information!

I'm planning to leave around the end of July, and have some questions that follow on from what I saw on the forum already.

As I learned from these forums, as I am leaving the country, I will go to get my de-registration document from the Gemeinde. With this I then contact any companies I am in a contract with to cancel.

My question is - will I have to pay a penalty? For example, my cablecom contract is for 1 year until next january, so I assume I will have to pay a cancellation penalty to be honest. But I thought it was worth checking on here to see if this is still relevant if you are leaving the country? Same for Health Insurance?

If I am unable to sell my furniture before I leave, what can I do with it? It's cheap IKEA stuff that doesn't make sense to ship back home, as from what I've read, the cost of shipping would be more than what it was worth to buy in the first place. So if I can't sell it, how do I get rid of it? I've read some posters saying to leave it outside, but I'm not so sure about that. I'd rather avoid trouble, so is there just a way to dispose of it?

Finally, are there any other things I should watch out for? I am aware of the issues surrounding moving out, so I will do my best on this, prepare the apartment as well as possible, and be ready to face the worst... that I am prepared for! But is there anything else I'm not considering?
