| I am from USA after 5 years in August I renewed my B then when it came in the mail made a copy of it and traded it in for a C permit which took only a few weeks. I included in the application my proof of German Language skills which was not required as per the application form but I thought it would help and I had not trouble.

Can you help me to understand this? I am from the USA as well, and coming up on my 5 years in August. Should I just reapply for the B, then attempt a trade? How does the trade manifest itself?
