Re: Safari in Africa

I will try to steer this thread back to its original intent.

I recently (End of Feb, 2010) went to Kenya and did a three day safari (as well as 5 days on Mombasa beach resort). We went through Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park. One piece of advice that I can give is this: If you want to see a high quantity and diverse wildlife, do not include Tsavo West in any package you choose.

If I had done my research before I went (which would have been smart, but I left most things up to the Travel Agency) I would have known that Masai Mara in Kenya or Serengeti in Tanzania both have greater volume and variety of animals than Tsavo East or West. Parks in South Africa can also boast this. Just my two cents.

I used Kuoni travel agency and she was very nice and helpful, but in retrospect I wish she would have asked me what I wanted, as at that time, I was under the assumption that since it was Africa, it didn't really matter where you went, you would be beseiged by animal life. I was wrong.
