I do think historical buildings are not the avarage rented out places. I assume cats would not be a problem if the tenant covers up the beams, also the most owners are too fussy about tenants despite there is everything regulated in the contract and tenancy law. If you have to ask the tenant if he would drink a glass whisky or red wine sometimes, because of being afraid staining the 200 year old wooden floor you should not rent out the place. It could hapen they burn down the house because of a forgotten candlelight.

are you arguing for the sake of it?? the owner can rent THERE house to whoever THEY please.

And given that any half decent place will have multiple people going for it I'd say they can afford to be choosey.

If you did spill red wine on his floor and stained it then it would be upto you to get it sorted, thats what deposits and insurance are for, your arguments make no sence, do you even live here??
