This ones easy.

If the landlord has a space or spaces that they want to rent and you don't have a car then they will not put you on the short list. Alternatively, if the landlord doesn't have space(s) for a car that you do have they won't want you on their short list either because you will want to park you car outside in the "visitor only spots!"
