If you're returning in Kanton Zurich - other Kantons may vary - today is the final day for asking for an extension. Otherwise, they'll start getting uppity, in a well mannered way. Look up 'Fristen' on your local tax site and you should find a link for asking for extensions.

Take what you read on internet forumsh very serioushly, or ask a sober accountant.
