| First off, it's always a good idea to learn the local language (or High German :P) ...
...but research results show that teachers are the worst CV writers (no kidding, I've read this somewhere...). | |

Thanks for the response.

I have been learning German on my own for the past 6-12 months through Rosetta Stone (a language learning program used on the computer) and started taking a course in Goldach 3 weeks ago. This Friday I am going to the RAV in St. Gallen to get more help. The problem is, I know a LOT of German, I can read it pretty well BUT I have no conversational skills....and THAT right there is the PROBLEM. I can't speak it at all because I get very little practice. As much as I try to speak German with friends and family, they want to speak English and brush up on their skills. I stopped fighting the battle.
About my CV, a native friend helped me put together a ''Swiss-style'' CV. And also translated a general cover letter for me.
At this point I think my only option is to start an apprenticeship and start from scratch.
