Re: Find Your Tandem/Language Exchange Partner on EF!

Hi, this sounds like a good idea to me... I have one problem, I suffer from social anxiety and therefore am not good at meeting new people. Would anyone be interested in doing a language exchange via Skype?

i) language(s) that you are learning, including level
I want to learn High German, have been doing a bit online but I'm at the stage when I can just about say: 'Ich bin eine Frau'. So absolute beginner here.

ii) language(s) you speak natively
English, I am a qualified primary school teacher with a degree in English and I'm starting up as an independent proofreader so would be happy to help with written skills as well as verbal skills.

iii) your location
Préverenges - near Lausanne, but with Skype it wouldn't matter...

iv) personal interests
Reading, especially the 'classics' like Jane Austen, writing creatively, crafts, children's books (I love picture books), teaching, Christianity, swimming, ice skating, 'Friends' (I can identify an episode within 3 mins in any language) and (I'm ashamed to admit it) those reality TV shows hunting for musical theatre stars!

v) short introduction about yourself
I moved to Switzerland in July 2009 to work in a pre-school and be near my parents who moved her several years ago. Unfortunately I became ill (again) and my job came to an end. I am trying to find part time work to support myself while I set up as an independent proofreader and write my first novel, and am finding that a lot of the jobs that interest me require German as well as French (which I am studying with a private teacher) and English. Hence my desire to learn German, but being unemployed I can't afford to pay for two sets of language lessons at once!
