Thanks for all the helpful & motivating posts. I've worked in a few countries in the past, but have really struggled to find anything here, as the main bulk of english-speaking jobs seem to fall within Banking/Finance/Insurance/IT. My main issue has been that my last role was quite specialised in Market Research as an Analyst for Bacardi and the equivalent opportunities are very slim here v UK (i.e. having to wait for years til someone leaves or dies!) I have also worked in Recruitment/Tourism but generally these industries require good German here (am I wrong?)
Competition is just so fierce, I applied for only a part-time job at the St Gallen Uni and I think every job-hunting-english-speaking person in Switzerland and their cat applied for it, didn't even get an interview![/LIST]Hope this helps someone. | |

Very tough to get marketing related positions here without fluent German or at least a widely used European language. Market research positions are available within the banks though. Try them. Most need German.
Any consumer oriented job e.g. consumer market research is tough to get. But you are doing all the right things. PM if you want to discuss market research further.
