Hello, I am only one month pregnant. This is my first and since I am 32, I want to make sure that I do everything correctly. Unfortunately, I am pretty clueless and dont even know if I can continue yoga. I was hoping to speak with anyone who has experience with having a baby in Lausanne. Has anyone delivered at CHUV or a private clinic like Clinique de la Source? Has anyone taken any prenatal yoga classes? I appreciate any advice you may have! Merci, Cara
Hi Cara,

Really one of the best things you can do is go to the moms and moms to be group in starbucks St. Laurent (directly opposite Coop City in Lausanne). Its on every second Tuesday from 12pm, the next one is Tuesday 01st June and there you will meet lots of english speaking moms and moms to be who will give you every bit of advice and information you need. It was a life saver for me during my pregnancy here. I can advise you a gynocologist Dr. Stefan Welti 0216174032- he is BRILLIANT! and based in Lausanne but give him a call asap to get on his list.
For an English speaking midwife you need Ruth Brauen 0794693187 who is also based in Lausanne and again is a minefield of information and more helpful than you can ever imagine.
I hear the CHUV is great but everyone has a different experience but depending on what insurance you have depends on whether or not you can go private so thats something you need to think about.
Ill most likely be at starbucks next week if you want to meet up let me know or send me a private message with your email and we can meet another day.
Oh and regards Yoga, you need to just inform your instructor that your pregnant and s/he should be able to advise you. As long as you dont have any complications you should be ok but listen to your body. I had to stop yoga cos all the bending down used to make me dizzy when I was pregnant and Id fall over so that was the end of that but I can recommend a really good pilates class especially for pregnant women where you will be really well looked after.
