Hi everybody, my post is related to educational part, but I dont know where to post it, so I am just writting here.

Does anybody know that the BA degree from UK can be accepted here or not. I,ve graduated from a private hotel school in Switzerland, everyone knows that all the private school degrees here are not recognized by the state. Thus, my school associates with the Manchester Metropolitan University to award dual degrees for their students.

In this case, I wonder that is my degree valid like official Swiss degree, does anyone here in the same situation ?

Thank you very much for reading and replying my post.

Greetings.
There are various agreements between the EU and Switlerland for the acceptance of degrees and professional qualitications for the purposes of attending college or practicing professions. It is complex area and you'd need to do lots of reading to figure out what is what!

However there is one very important point to bear in mind and I think it may have an impact on your situation - acceptance is based not just on the awarding body but also on the citizenship of the holder of the degree or qualification!

For example: I'm a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and as such I'm fully entitled to practice my profession in Switzerland. However one of my friends in the Institute is not able to do this because he does not hold Irish or EU citizenship.

I could well imagine that if you were applying to a college here and you had the degree they'd accept it no problem. But if the degree is required as part of a professional qualification to offer services to the public, then you may find that they are a lot stricter on this point.

Good luck with that,

Jim.
