As a fairly bored non-working spouse out here in Switzerland the one thing that has kept me sane is the ability to go cycling most days. However, as much as it is fun to go cycling alone I was wondering if there are people in the Basel area who would like to get out (or already do) on their bikes on a regular basis. In the UK I used to run regular leisure rides for both regular cyclists and new cyclists of around 20 - 40 (depending on the group) miles with a pub stop. These were always at a leisurely pace (lycra wasn't mandatory) and thought there might be people out there who would fancy a bike ride with others but feel scared (embarrassed even) of ending up with Lance Armstrong look alikes!

Having cycled most of the region round Basel there are plenty of routes which don't include Alpine mountain climbs and could be perfect for a leisurely after work or Sat/Sun ride.

If there is interest I would be happy to organise one or two and see how we get on.
