| Apple had this to say last night when it gave out its results.... "We are on track to begin selling the iPhone in Europe during the fourth calendar quarter of this year starting with a few major countries, and expanding the number of countries throughout 2008," Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer said during a conference call with analysts following Apple's third- quarter report."
Im guessing fairly strongly that switzerland will be a throughout 2008 thing. how bad is that? lets wait more than a year, maybe even two, for a phone, shall we? arrrgh.

Yepp, definitely going to be 2008 for Switzerland. But to be honest - I don't care anymore. I went from being totally enthusiastic to being quite skeptical and now to "couldn't care less". Just ordered my Blackberry Curve :-)
Maybe, sometime in the distant future when the phone will actually be available here, will be vastly improved in terms of keyboard, connectivity and battery life and isn't tied to a single carrier anymore, I will go back to enthusiastic.
