| Hi,
Whilst in the US I have had the opportunity to play around with iphone. It seems like a fairly good pda and a poor phone. People were telling me that it is hard to hear people without headphones. It is fast and responsive and definitely has he Apple eye candy but people were also saying that it is actually faster to do many things with a windows mobile device.
It certainly has a wow factor and the displayed keyboard is a lot better than you might thing but not really a substiture for a real keyboard.
I would say if you are interested in at as a phone I would wait until Apple get that right.
Have fun

Hey Martin,
I'm not surprised you didn't get a good experience with the phone part of the iPhone. If you were visiting the part of the US you usually visit, the coverage that ATT has is horrible. I had both an old ATT phone, and then 'upgraded' it for a week to a phone that did both GSM and TDMA, after a week I went back to TDMA. The downfall of that version of ATT is a well publicized story. I also had a Cingular (who purchased the remnants of the old ATT wireless) SIM for a bit, but their service was even worse. I couldn't get a signal at all at my house.
T-mobile has the best coverage in the part of the US you generally visit for GSM, and Verizon has the best overall coverage in that same region. It would be interesting to see what it would be like on the networks here in Europe. I think US GSM networks are pretty pathetic, and I'd use Verizon if they had a decent pre-pay plan....
