| Re: iPhone in Switzerland
I am not really bashing the phone itself more the hype surrounding it. The actual phone delivered, has unsurprisingly not lived up to the hype that the fanboys in the media have been pushing.
For what it is worth, a lot of companies have support forums and most don't edit what the posters say. It is not that unusual in the industry. I think what was funny was that you are implying that some how Apple is a benevolent organisation that really wants to help all it's users at any cost. I don't think this is true as it is a commercial company with shareholders. It should be judged by the same standards as all other companies rather than having special coverage because it likes to portray it's self as the "david" against the goliaths in the industry.
I don't particularly have an opinion about the phone, apart from the fact that it is a reasonable pda, but a very closed proprietary environment compared to it's competitors.
Anyway, when it comes to phones the Symbian based phones are it's biggest competitors and as it is not aimed at business it does not really compete with the Blackberries or Window Mobile phones.
Maybe it might eventually be an interesting phone but I doubt Apple will do the things needed to get it there. However, it probably is really the next generation ipod.
Have fun
Martin
