I'm moving to Lausanne with my wife on Oct. 1, and am looking for a furnished apartment in Lausanne. Ideally it should be a 2.5 pieces located close to the train station (I really like the area between the train station and the lake)

So basically following would be the "ideal" apartment:

*Available: Oct 1st
*Modern, newly built
*Bright
*1 Bedroom (2.5 pieces)
*include all charges + internet
*around 60 m2 or more
*willing to pay around 2500 CHF /month

The duration of the rent will be 3 months but in November I will know if I want to extend for an additional 6 months

thanks for your reply. I did that search but oklogements seems to have pretty run down apartments.

I've also downloaded the pdf from the lausanne tourism office but it seems to be out of date. I called and sent emails to quite a few. Many emails weren't answered and also found the phones were disconnected .

Thus my reason for posting this.

We stayed in an apartment from OK logements for our first two months here, in their building on Rue Valentin. It was small (26 m2) and very expensive (1800 CHF per month) but was certainly not run-down. However, I'd only recommend it as a last resort, which it was for us.

Yeah I agree it is expensive and since I'm looking 1 month beforehand, I was hoping to find something more definite..... Guess I'll keep looking.

What does "pieces" mean? For example, when it reads 2 Pieces, or 1.5 pieces, what the heck does that mena exactly?

Pieces are number of rooms excluding kitchen and bathroom (in Vaud, in Geneva it includes the kitchen).

So, a 2 piece will have two (bed room & living room) rooms plus a kitchen & bathroom. A 1 piece is a studio.
