I am living in Zurich now and having difficulty in finding a flatshare or an apartment near the University with reasonable price by the end of Sept. If anyone of you lives or know anyone in Lugano, please introduce to me. If you have any tips for finding a flat there, please give me some advice. I have searched many websites but it doesn't work out. Please help me !!!!

Hi!
Well, I am still not in Lugano, but I think I can help with some links.
Take a look here, just click on L to see what's available in Lugano. It's in Italian, but it is easy to understand. http://www.lugano-online.ch/i/getrec...p?cat=3&sct1=8
If I find other good links, I'll post them.

THANKS!!
Since my post, I came across a good site for rentals in Lugano. http://www.homegate.ch/
I still have not secured a place, but have lots of time.
I appreciate knowing of any other sites people find - or if you have a place for rent.

One of the best resource for finding appartments in Ticino is the claissifieds newspaper Cerca e Trova (Literal Translation - Search & Find). It is published every Friday and you can find it at all kiosks/petrol stations.

Angela | | | | | Hi, Angela!! I am actually coping with the same issue as you! I cannot find a place to live in Lugano. The available flats seem to be very few and all occupied. I need this flat by mid-august, in order to attend the next wintersemester at USI. Consider me, if you need a room-mate Bye

Hi,
I am seeking for an accommodation in Lugano too as I'll be coming over to USI in Sept 07. I have browsed the websites providing the listings of apartment to rent in Lugano but still the rental rates is higher for a 1.5 room. I think sharing with one or 2 friends in 2 or 3 bedrooms apartment is cheaper.
I have never been to Lugano before and I just got some basic idea of the place (from readings) so I think that it's a good idea to share a place.
So anybody?

Hi,
I found the website from the International Students Handbook which is also a good source of finding an apartment in Switzerland, esp Lugano. www.wgzimmer.ch
I've checked the website and found some reasonable price to rent a room with a good location. I guess those of you who are living in Europe, particularly in Switzerland itself and Italy have the advantage of checking the place before making a deal to rent. I would only be able to arrive in Lugano in early Sept 2007... pity me However I hope I can secure an accommodation with a reasonable price.
Cheers!

Hi Everyone!!!
I have already lived in Lugano since October 2006, but I have to move house and so I am looking for someone to share with (and obv a place to live) for the 1st September. I see that a lot of you are looking for something and so I would like to know if anyone is interested in sharing with me.
I will be starting my second year in BA Communication Sciences, I am Canadian/ South African, I like sport and probably beer a little bit too much ... I don't mind living with pets if anyone has any and I really want to find someone (or some people) who are open-minded and are not going to have a heart attack if we don't do the dishes the same night we eat from them. I also don't have a problem with living with the opposite sex, to me mixing things up a bit can be fun. As I am living here it is a lot easier for me to look at the appartments.. but yeh in the meantime it would be great to hear from you!

To novemberrain:sorry that I donot know if anyone has apartment for rent in September now. But I can tell you that you will find some information at that time from the university's notice board. It is a bit early for you to worry about the apartment, I think you have to sign a contract in person since it is very important here. Only when you have the apartment contract then you can apply for the permit. After that, you can open the bank account.
To cdg2404: I think it is better for you to contact the coordinator in your program. They can help you to contact with other new students. You can find lots of information in their blog. http://mtlugano.blogspot.com/
Good luck!

Hello there!
I am a Swedish girl who after a bit more than a year in Lugano, is leaving. I have been living together with a girl from zurich studying interior design at the university here, and we now need to find someone to take over my room.
I can leave the flat as early as the end of June, and would prefer someone to move in as soon as possible. My flatmate would prefer a girl as a flatmate and as fas as I know there are no pets allowed.
The flat is located in an area called Viganello, and lies right down the street from the Lido (beach). The centre is a 10 min walk away and there is a large Coop only a couple of hundred metres from the flat.
The rent is CHF 550. The flat consists of two bedrooms, a large hallway, a living room and a kitchen. The bathroom and kitchen are both fresh and well maintained.
Please let me know if any of you are interested!
Kind regards,
Ellinor
