I read these threads with interest. Will be moving from ZH to Lugarno in the new year. Any tips on where to stay. Also am looking for a reasonably priced small furnished apartment for the first two months, while I am looking for a permanent
one and still having to pay for the flat here. Any help or anyone with a holiday flat they would like to rent out of season - do get in touch! Debra

I made a similar move last year in January. I would advise to try and find a flat before you move this saves you alot of hassle with storing furniture etc. It is not difficult to secure an apartment here like it is in Zuerich - I visited for a few weekends and found something quite easily. At that time of year although there are not tonnes of flats on the market there are also not many people looking. Best to start your search with Comparis as it shows flats from all the websites.

To rent a furnished apartment will not be cheap as they literally double the rent for the furnishings even at that time of year.
