| | | Still looking for a place to live
Dear all,
As someone might have read in my thread "Zurich's accommodation hell" I need a new apartment, really soon, meaning before the end of September.
I am getting less and less fancy about the location, starting to consider areas just outside Zurich but still on a biking distance to the center (Wallisellen, Glattbrug, Opfikon, etc...).
What I need is a 2 or more rooms flat, for a decnt price, let's say less than 1400 chf, in a calm neighborhood (no big roads out of the window). I would live there by myself and then, in a few months, my girlfriend might join and also live permanently there.
Any hints?

But, is this what you mean? About the location I have already said...
So, I guess I am looking almost everywhere. The main problem is that when there is a nice apartment available on homegate or similar popular pages, tens of people show up and the chances of getting it are quite small. Much better would be applying for something that was only advertised here, where less people look, and where foreigners help each other...

Yes, thanks, I know that post. The thing is that by looking at ALL those website one maybe find one or two flats that are not advertised on homegate, so I chose my few sources and left the others which I judged less efficient... but in the particularly difficult situation I am now... it might be worth checking EVERYWHERE, thanks.
However, this post was mainly to attract someone on EF who had was leaving a flat...

Id say looking for a 2+ room apartment within biking distance of the centre of zurich for less than CHF1400 you are going to struggle, especially at short notice.
Have you considered temporary accomodation to buy you more time?
There's also www.wgzimmer.ch but thats mainly for sharing with others.

Well, I see a lot of flats around for a price within my budget (which I raised considerably since last time). Regarding short-term lease: I am really tired of moving (I moved last time last week, the third time in one year). I do not consider sharing, I have done it for the last 10 years, now it's time to have a place on my own.
And yes, I am struggling |

Thanks a lot, however it is above my rent limit and a bit too far. On that direction I don't think I'd be ready to cross the city borders, i.e. not more west than Altstetten or Oenng.

No offence, but you are getting pretty picky for someone who is alluding to being desperate
I doubt you will find very much at all for the price and time limit.

I can't think of finding another temporary solution. In case I don't find enything before the end of the month I'll give away all my furniture for free and stay at friends....
