Update: As there are now several fairly firm applicants and finding a new tenant is the landlord's responsibility starting July 1st, my friend is no longer actively looking for someone for the flat. A friend of mine is moving out of his lovely apartment in Seefeld next week - sadly the person who had agreed to rent the place verbally has pulled out of signing the lease contract at the last minute.

The apartment has four good-sized to large rooms, wooden flooring in most rooms and high ceilings, is flooded with sunlight from midday and is in a quiet area two minutes walk from Feldeggstrasse tramstop and a slow five minutes walk from the lake. It has a large kitchen and lots of built in cupboards, there's cellar space included and a lift, plus you have enough room for a large shoe rack in front of your door. Pets are allowed subject to a quick consulation with the landlord. The rent is CHF 2900, which is a reasonable price for a large apartment in Seefeld. Adding a balcony to the apartment is planned in the near future, this will increase the rent by CHF 100.

There is a public viewing date scheduled for 3rd of June from 7pm to 8pm - PM me if you are interested so I can send you the address. My friend is essentially looking for someone to move in as soon as possible, as I said, he will be leaving the place on June 2nd.

On a slightly less objective note - I've been to the place and it's really nice
and quiet, sitting in the living room with the sun flooding in is great and being able to pop down to the lake for a glass of wine or an impromptu picnic after work is definitely a plus. The house is your typical Seefeld Jugendstil / Art Nouveau building. The reason he is moving is that he used to share it with someone else and it is now to big as the other person has moved out.

Update 16.06.09:
Since there was nobody who was prepared to enter into more than a verbal contract, the landlord is now handling this directly. I can send on requests to my friend who can pass on the landlord's details but that's about it for now.

The flat is still available, again someone said they would take it but then backed out at the last minute. I guess people feel nervous about committing to what is a sizeable rent but it is definitely a gorgeous place in a great location.

It's in the third floor (there is a small lift) and part of the windows (those of the two larger rooms) look out on to the trees of the park belonging to the large villa next door, the others look out on to the next building.

Is the flat still available ? when may we come to see it ?

I'm not sure what the situation of the flat is at the moment and my friend is away until the weekend so I can't comment.
