Hi everyone I am new to this forum and I must say that this forum is really helpful. I found many posts for rooms to rent but found nothing close to where we would like. We are looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment to rent (starting mid jan- may 2010) in Basel preferably somewhere close to Roche. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Are you only looking for a 5-month lease or anytime between January and May? 5 months would be difficult to find, but there are furnished temporary flats.

Did you see this advertisement for a longer term rental? You could walk to Roche from Birsfelden in 15 min or take the Bus 2 stops. I don't know the apartment, but Birsfelden is really just like part of the city.

On this subject, are furnished flats common in Switzerland, Basel especially? On the little research I've done so far, many ads refer to holiday or tourist flats with high rents to match. Do you know if rental agencies have many furnished flats available? And for shorter terms, as I am also interested in 3 months furnished from mid June. I will look at a longer lease once I'm there.
